Stage Name

Allegedly, in 1957, Harold Jenkins decided that his real name was not memorable enough and sought a better show business name. In The Billboard Book of Number One Hits Fred Bronson states that the singer was looking at a road map when he spotted Conway Arkansas, and Twitty Texas, and chose the name Conway Twitty. He also considered "BaldKnob" as a stage name but personally I am glad he chose Conway Twitty.

The song I've Just Got to Know How Loving You Would Be was written by Jody Emerson and Wild Bill Emerson and was first recorded and released by Freddy Weller. Several artist have recorded it through the years including Conway Twitty. He recorded it back in 1978 and added it to his alum called "Conway".

I hope you enjoyed the songs above. I could post hundreds of Conway's songs because to me he never did a bad one, he was and still is the best country singer/songwriter/artist to have ever graced our earth. The songs under this paragraph are some of my favorites, I am posting them in hopes that you may find your new favorite in the mix. I hope you enjoy.

Again, I am in no way affiliated with Conway Twitty, ConwayTwitty.com, any form of it's entity or his family. I am just honoring someone I love with all my heart.
